This will be the first residential community of its kind in Dubai. Its builders aim to create the highest environmental standards by adopting a sustainable approach in its quest to become a regional leader in eco-tourism and global environmental protection. Wind towers would keep the city cool in the desert, and food would come from the city’s own trees and biodome greenhouses. The villas would consume and produce green energy, mostly through the use of solar panels on their roofs. It will have a research institute, school, productive agricultural landscape, planetarium, museum, solar-shaded parking area, eco-resort, and spa. Though development is far from done, the community looks promising and will hopefully be more successful than Dubai’s previous models.
